Atlanta Technical College, Institute for Males presents the Entrepreneurship, Leadership Development and Career and College Exploration Symposium.
Business professionals, entrepreneurs, scholars, authors, speakers and other esteemed guest will meet to encourage and empower the community at large and the African American male population in particular.
The 2009 Atlanta Leadership Summit is organized by Atlanta Technical College, Institute for Males (AIM). AIM was developed to increase the number of males that receive a high school and college education and assist in eliminate recidivism within the community.
The Institute for Males says their organization uses a wrap around approach to direct their participants in achieving their personal, academic and professional goals while eliminating barriers that may deter them from becoming productive citizens. Additionally, AIM states this forum is an extension of service that we provide to our participants to assist them in becoming servant leaders in their homes and communities.
One of the speakers includes a former stutter who is now an accomplished author, business consultant and motivational speaker. JaWar has written several books including How to Self-Publish for Profit, the Twitter Resource Book and the Music Industry Connection Book Series to name a few. JaWar challenges conventional views of how to succeed life and business by seriously exploring and promoting independence using his three step success system -THINK, PLAN, EXECUTE
Grammy Award Winning Multi-Platinum Music Producer and Songwriter MAESTRO will also sit as one of the esteemed guest for the Leadership Development Panel. Along with being a successful music producer and songwriter, Maestro is a graduate of Morehouse College and regularly shares wisdom on the music business, entrepreneurship and community service.
FOCUS is a multi-platinum music producer, songwriter and programmer who has worked with N'sync, Faith Evans, Boyz II Men, Destiny's Child, Usher, Montell Jordan, Sole', Chrstina Milian, Mary-Mary, Beyounce, Pete Pablo, The Game featuring Nate Dogg and many others. As a successful music producer and songwriter who studied and worked with Dr. Dre, Focus realizes the importance of helping those that want to be helped. He will share his experience during the Leadership Development Conference.
The keynote address for the Atlanta Leadership Summit-Blueprint for Life will be given by Mr. Kevin Powell, Author of the Best Selling Black Male Handbook. Of his life work Kevin Powell says simply, "My life-calling is to be a servant for the people, period. Money, fame, status, personal achievements and all that means very little to me when pain and suffering are still real on this planet. I am interested in the powerless becoming powerful."
The Entrepreneurship, Leadership Development and Career and College Exploration and Keynote Address will be held Saturday, November 7, 2009 at Atlanta Technical College Campus Auditorium (Academic Building) at 1560 Metropolitan Pkwy, Atlanta Georgia 30310.
